Need some advice on a data analytics platform

I'm considering a new data analytics solution for my enterprise level organization. What are the top questions I should be asking? Any insights appreciated.

  • For me, I'd want to ask and know:

    1. What specific analytics capabilities does the solution offer?
      • You should understand the types of analytics (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive) the solution can perform and whether it meets your business needs.
    2. How does the solution integrate with our existing data infrastructure and systems?
      • Assess the ease of integration with your current databases, CRM, ERP systems, and other software tools.

  • You should definitely think about what data sources and types can the solution handle. For example, ensure the solution can process and analyze data from the sources you currently use or plan to use, including structured and unstructured data!  Then think about the scalability of the solution. Determine whether the solution can scale to meet your future data volume and complexity needs without significant additional cost or changes in performance.

  • I'd maybe think about what type of customer support and training does the vendor offer? Assess the level of support provided, including availability, responsiveness, and whether training is offered to ensure your team can effectively use the solution.

How user-friendly is the solution, and what is the learning curve for users? Evaluate the interface and usability of the solution to ensure it matches the skill level of your team and won’t require extensive training to get started.

  • All great responses and insights!  Thanks everyone.
